How to care for your new Raku Vase

Raku Ceramics by Konza Fire Creations
Inspired by Earth. Crafted by Flame.

Each Raku ceramic piece from Konza Fire Creations is a one-of-a-kind expression of clay, fire, and spontaneity. Hand-formed and kiln-fired using traditional Raku and Alternative Firing techniques, these vessels bear the mark of smoke, flame, and raw elemental beauty.

Our Raku process involves pulling pieces from the red-hot kiln and placing them in contact with natural combustible materials such as sawdust or straw. The thermal shock creates unpredictable crackles, smoky patterns, and unique textures that can never be replicated—only revealed.

Earth-toned glazes, scorched metallics, and subtle carbon markings make every piece a living record of the fire that shaped it. Each item is imbued with character, warmth, and the beauty of imperfection. Wabi-sabi!

Please note: These pieces are not food or water safe and are intended for decorative and aesthetic use only.

No two are alike—just like the flames that create them.

Naked and Copper Raku Ceramic Vase

General Care

• Display Only: Naked raku pieces are decorative and not watertight. Do not fill with water unless the interior is specifically sealed (most are not).

• Keep Indoors: Avoid exposing it to outdoor elements. The porous clay body can absorb moisture and crack with temperature fluctuations.

• Handle with Care: The surface is often unglazed and fragile. Always lift from the base, not the rim.

Cleaning Tips

• Dust Gently: Use a soft, dry cloth or feather duster to remove dust.

• Avoid Water: Do not submerge or rinse with water. If absolutely needed, lightly dampen a cloth and gently wipe, then dry immediately.

• No Chemicals: Avoid detergents, sprays, or any abrasive cleaners. These can damage the surface.

Display Considerations

• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged UV exposure can fade the colors and stress the clay.

• Stable Surfaces: Place on secure shelves or surfaces where it won’t be knocked over easily.

• Use Felt Pads: Add soft pads to the base to prevent scratching furniture. Storage

• Wrap Carefully: Use bubble wrap or soft cloths around the piece. Avoid pressure on fragile areas. •

  • Temperature-Controlled: Store in a dry, stable environment. Avoid garages or attics with extreme temperatures
